Supporting transportation solutions
Delegate Cosgrove is pleased to announce his support for fellow
Chesapeake Delegate S. Chris Jones' bill which will use modeling and
simulation to design and study major transportation projects, such as
the expansion of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, before they are
built -- potentially saving taxpayers millions of dollars.
"In particular, the joint subcommittee shall consider construction
projects considered or approved by the Hampton Roads Transportation
Authority, including but not limited to improvements to and expansion
of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, and, through use of modeling and
simulations, assess the need for and relative priority of all such
projects," reads the resolution.
The one year, 10-member joint subcommittee will study the Hampton
Roads transportation network and receive input from local government
officials, the business community, and the general public on how
transportation needs should most appropriately and efficiently be
addressed.
